The official launch of the AgriHub by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the North West University took place yesterday at the NWU Molelwane Experimental Farm.
The Agri-Hub initiative will serve as a key platform for emerging farmers, equipping them with the technical expertise and business acumen needed to establish sustainable and competitive agricultural enterprises. Through hands-on training and exposure to modern farming techniques, young agripreneurs will be better positioned to integrate into the broader agricultural value chain.
The Executive Mayor of Mahikeng Local Municipality was amongst the dignitaries that graced the occasion and he stressed that the local communities must be assisted “to supply their products in the private market such as restaurants, fruit and vegetable wholesalers etc.”
Mahikeng Local Municipality participated in a multidisciplinary operation to enforce the by-law on spaza shops and food handling led by Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality and the South African Police Service.
