Monday: closure on Tilliard street from intersection with proctor ave to Intersection with Dan Pienaar ave (day closure only. Residents will be accommodated)

Tuesday – Friday – single lane closure on road D424 from intersection with quigly street to intersection with Voortreker road (Stop and go in effect only during working hours)

Residents are kindly requested to obey all construction signages

Executive Mayor of Mahikeng Local Municipality Cllr. Tshepiso Mphehlo joined the family, friends and community of Mahikeng and mourners who came from outside the Province, musicians and artists to pay tribute to the Legendary actor Presley Chweneyagae at the Mmabatho Convention Centre.
In his opening address at the memorial service of the late Presley Chweneyagae, the Executive Mayor Mphehlo, reflected on the importance of nurturing the creative industry in the city. He stated:
“Mahikeng has always been a cradle of talent, it is through artists like Presley that our city finds its voice, its dignity, and its place on the national stage. We must honour that legacy by continuing to support the arts as a pillar of community development.”

All the Heavy duty vehicles exceeding 10 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM) are not permitted to park on this side of road on the Nelson Mandela Drive next to The Crossing Shopping Centre.
 
.Mahikeng Local Municipality during its Council sitting which was held on Thursday the 30th January 2025 appointed 05 Directors, Mr Lekgoa Mahole as Director Corporate Support Services, Mr Tiro Seleka, Community Services, Ms Nokuthula Phamodi, Socio-Economic Development, Mr Ofentse Masibi, Public Safety and Mr Ikotlhaeng Khesa as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). We welcome and wish them well in their new endeavours.
20 Sep 2024 – Mahikeng Local Municipality Resealing Project in Mmabatho Unit 15, Ward 02, Cydonia Road is nearing completion.The road is primarily used to transport commuters to and from various locations and children to school, the road serves as a major transfer point for motorists and taxi operators.The Executive Mayor Cllr Tshepiso Mphehlo is impressed by progress made so far.
