Mahikeng Local Municipality urges residents to take precaution following disaster caused by strong winds

The Mahikeng Local Municipality urges the residents of Uitkyk, Seberia, Luisdal, Goedgevonden, Lombaardslaagte, Naauwpoort, Setlopo, Dithakong, Dithwaneng and affected surrounding areas to take precaution following disaster caused by strong winds that damaged houses and power transmission lines.

The Mahikeng Local Municipality has dispatched disaster teams to the area. Local public representatives are also available to assist. An assessment of the extent of the damage will be conducted. Residents are urged to cooperate with authorities and to avoid the power lines as some may be live. Eskom teams are also dispatched to attend the disaster.

The Mahikeng Local Municipality calls for calm as all of government coordinates a response.
