Mahikeng Local Municipality is replacing a water pipe in Unit 9 which means there will be a water disruption in the following areas Montshiwa, Mega City, Unit 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 & 15. This repair will take place from 11h00 until 13h00 today (1 March 2018).

Councilor KB Diakanyo of Mahikeng Local Municipality in her acceptance speech as the Executive Mayor on the 17 August 2016 has promised the citizens that within the next hundred days in office that is from the 17th August 2016 she will convene the Youth lndaba. Mahikeng Local Municipality is equally affected by the triple challenges gripping South Africa namely:
i. Unemployment
ii. Poverty and
iii. Inequality
The primary purpose of the Youth Summit is for the municipality to play a meaningful role to the Youth of our municipality by inviting organizations like PPC, NYDA, Coca Cola, Feed and many more to come and impart knowledge. We understand that the municipality will not be in a position to offer young people employment. What we can do is to empower them with knowledge and skills.
